Day 1: It all starts with God

..::*+ Small Talk +*::..
Hey hey hey~ Wanted to change my life-style. Got motivated. He he.

Finally, I decided to give it a start. And God surprised me again: I was thinking to find someone to read together with me "Purpose Driven Life: What on Earth I am here for?" and God just somehow find me to Stephanie. And thus we started our first chapter of the book yesterday and will be posting thoughts about it for 40days non-stop. =)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Day 1: It all starts with God
I used to think that my purpose of life is to reach the goals and dreams that I set for myself. And I found it hard to pursue them. I would never satisfy myself. I was a professional *whooops* good badminton player. I used to set goals in my training: I want to learn these movements, I want to learn that techniques, I want to beat this player, I want to become champion of my class, my form, my school, my district, my state, and my country *whoops again, I didn't aim so far*, become Germany-bound-Malaysians Champion... dot dot dot, and the list goes on. In the end, I noticed something: If it wasn't God's plan, I wouldn't had become a "project player" back in primary school. If it wasn't God, I wouldn't had survived the Sarawak Badminton Association (SBA)'s player-elimination exam competition. If it wasn't God, I really wouldn't had won the "MGSS Badminton Men Single". If it wasn't God, I wouldn't be here. If it wasn't God, I wouldn't be who I am now.
So it just stroke me in my head. All these while my purpose of living wasn't in the correct direction. Yes, it was mentioned in the book that most of times, we think that our purpose of living is self-centered. The beginning point is from me, myself and I. But it's wrong. NO, because everything starts with God.
For by Him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by Him and for Him.
Colossians 1:16
I like this quote from the book:
It is only in God that we discover our origin, our identity, our meaning, our purpose, our significance, and our destiny.
The Purpose Driven Life - Rick Warren
In the end, I realised that it's not about me, but Him.
Then, how to know what my purpose on earth is? It was told in the book, ask God. And we had discussed about it, and yes, by our own wisdom *it shouldn't be called so* knowledge and understanding, we'll never be sufficient to understand our purpose. After all, God was the one who planned everything for us, no?
"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
Jeremiah 29:11
So instead of scratching you head and digging into your brain, why don't just ask Him? Ask him faithfully.
If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him.
James 1:5
Ask Him, and at the same time, open up all your possible channels to receive His words, hear His calling. She suggested me to take my camera, *since I like to take photos, she said*, go out and enjoy the nature phenomenon - acts of God. And snap photos, give few minutes to analyse the photos, and see if it says anything to me - bible verses, God's calling, God's words, songs, part of lyrics in my heart... anything. Well, sounds fun and want to try it.
The important is to open up available portals and let God in, instead of waiting for God to come to you. Staying in your room won't bring any benefits to you. Even if God really is at your doorstep, knocking and asking you to open your house door, but without letting Him in, you'll still not to know your purpose of life, no?
