Bible quote from Helen:
I will never break my covenant with you.
Judges 2:1

Day 36: Made for a mission
The fifth purpose of life – Made for a mission. God is constantly working in the world, and He wants all of His children to join Him in His marvelous job. This is your MISSION. God wants all of us, the believers to have both a ministry in the Body of Christ and a mission in the world.
Your ministry is your service to believers, and your mission is your service to unbelievers.
Rick Warren – The Purpose Driven Life
The word “mission” actually came from Latin word, which means “sending”. Being a Christian means we are being sent to this world as a representative of Jesus Christ.
Again Jesus said, “Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.”
John 20:21
Jesus himself had lived a purpose-driven life. He completed the mission the Father gave Him. And now, His mission is our mission, because we are all the Body of Christ. We must start introducing people to God. The Bible says:
Christ changed us from enemies into his friends and gave us the task of making others his friends also.
2 Corinthians 5:18 Today’s English Version
Once we are his, God uses us to reach others. We are the messengers of God’s love and purposes to the world.
The importance of your mission
1. Your mission is a continuation of Jesus’ mission on earth. As the followers of Jesus, we are to continue His mission. Study the five commissions of Jesus and we will know when, where, how, and why about our mission.
Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.
Matthew 28:19-20
This is the Greatest Commission that Jesus gave us. Yes, all of us, not just pastors or missionaries alone. We are part of the family, and this mission is mandatory – ignoring it means disobedience. We hold the responsibility of those unbelievers who live around us.
When I say to a wicked man, “You will surely die,” and you do not warn him or speak out to dissuade him from his evil ways in order to save his life, that wicked man will die for his sin, and I will hold you accountable for his blood.
Ezekiel 3:18
2. You mission is a wonderful privilege. It is a great honor to be used by God for this mission, although it is a big responsibility. In our mission it involves 2 great privileges: working with God and representing Him. We are His partner in building the Kingdom of God. We are also his agent in this world:
We are therefore the Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God.
2 Corinthians 5:20
3. Telling others how they can have eternal life is the greatest thing you can do for them. If you know how to cure an incurable disease, it would be a crime to withhold that lifesaving information. Even worse is when you keep secret the way to forgiveness, purpose, peace and eternal life.
We have the greatest news in the world, and sharing it is the greatest kindness you can show to anyone.
Rick Warren – The Purpose Driven Life
Another thing to be reminded is that no matter how successful people appear to be, without Christ they are hopelessly lost and headed for eternal separation from God. All of us need Jesus.
4. Your mission has eternal significance. The consequences of our mission will last forever. It is important to help people establishing an eternal relationship with God.
“As long as it is day, we must do the work of him who sent me. Night is coming, when no one can work.”
John 9:4
We all should start our mission to reach out those who don’t know about the good news. God wants us to share Good News with others no matter where you are. It does not mean you must quit your job or studies and become a full-time evangelist. Continue to look for people in place where you are in.
5. Your mission gives your life meaning. Everything else other than kingdom of God will eventually vanish.
The best use of life is to spend it for something that outlasts it.
William James
Therefore, we must live a purpose-driven life – life committed to worship, fellowship, spiritual growth, ministry and fulfilling our mission on earth. Paul said:
My life is worth nothing unless I use it for doing the work assigned to me by the Lord Jesus – the work of telling others the Good News about God’s wonderful kindness and love.
Acts 20:24 New Living Translation
There are people who only you can reach. If you can bring someone to be in heaven, your life has made a difference for eternity.
6. God’s timetable for history’s conclusion is connected to the completion of our commission. Today a lot of us are guessing the second return of Jesus. But just before He ascended to heaven He said,
It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.
Acts 1:7-8
No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.
Matthew 24:36
Thus all we need to concern is just spreading His words to others, so that more and more people will come back to Him. Ricardo Cid is doing his job. When will yours be get started?
